The Information and Broadcasting ministry has appointed four new members to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) including Kannada filmmaker TS Nagabharana --one of the pioneers of parallel cinema, and Tamil film music director and lyricist Gangai Amaran.

Considered close to the BJP, Nagabharana had earlier campaigned for the saffron party in Karnataka, while Amaran, who is music legend Ilayaraja's brother and a popular music composer himself, had formally joined party last December.
