The Chhattisgarh government on Monday agreed to form a secretary-level panel to look into police cases filed against media persons working in the restive Bastar region.

The government’s move came after more than 300 journalists from different parts of the State gathered in Jagdalpur, district headquarters of Bastar, on Monday to protest the recent arrest of two local journalists and demand a law to protect scribes working in conflict zones.
