The Supreme Court today asked the Gujarat police to file a charge sheet by Friday in a lower court in a criminal case lodged against Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convener and 22-year-old political activist Hardik Patel for allegedly adopting violent means to “wage war against the Gujarat government”.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the Gujarat government, sought the apex court’s permission to file the charge sheet against Mr Patel on the ground that if it is not filed, the accused will be entitled to get bail.
