The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa among others in connection with a defamation case filed against the DMDK chief Vijaykanth.
Justice Dipak Mishra heading the Bench however observed that the public prosecutor must not behave like a post office.
Justice Mishra while taking note of the large number of defamation cases filed by Tamil Nadu said that the public prosecutor must apply his mind. The PP is not a post office, Justice Mishra also observed. While issuing notice, the court said that the reply shall be filed in 8 weeks.
