The government has started taking action against cable TV operators for having carried Islamic preacher Zakir Naik’s Peace TV on their networks as the television channel does not have a licence to operate in India.

The Kurnool district administration has sealed the office of cable operator Seema Communication and seized its equipment for carrying Peace TV, Minister of state in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said.

An FIR has also been lodged against the cable operator by the authorised officer.
