The Jammu and Kashmir authorities Thursday asked private cable operators to take five channels off the air as their programmes were creating law and order problem in the Valley, besides “causing mental and physical harm to government functionaries”.
An order by the District Magistrate (Srinagar) asked all private cable operators to stop airing KBC, Gulistan TV, Munsiff TV, JK Channel and Insaaf TV, failing which action will be taken against them under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation Act, 1995).
