The number of government requests for user data to Facebook from India rose nearly 14% in the first half of 2016 compared to the last six months of 2015, according to the social networking company’s Government Requests Report.

India remained the second highest requestor of content takedown, after the US and also had second highest content restriction requests in the period.

India made 6,324 requests for user data, compared to 5,561 in the last six months.
