Union information and broadcasting minister M.Venkaiah Naidu has expressed concern over the Pakistani channels being aired illegally in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and hence, asked the state government to stop the transmission.
According to a senior official who did not wish to be named, channels from countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are being illegally transmitted by local cable operators in the valley and are spreading ‘anti-India’ propaganda.
This move comes after Naidu met J&K chief secretary B.B. Vyas on Friday. “There have been reports of some Pakistani and Saudi Arabian channels being aired in J&K which is in violation of the law. The minister expressed concern over this and has asked J&K government to stop this immediately” said the official cited above.
