In a rare move, the Karnataka High Court today approached the Supreme Court against its own judge, Justice D V Shylendra Kumar, accusing him of berating Chief Justice P D Dinakaran by using intemperate language in his blogs. The Supreme Court vacation bench posted the petition for hearing tomorrow.
Alleging that he was defying his own Chief Justice, the High Court petition sought quashing of some orders passed by a bench headed by Justice Kumar.
Known as the blogger judge, Justice Kumar used his writings to openly criticise Justice Dinakaran who is facing an impeachment motion over allegations of corruption.
The HC petition, filed through the Registrar General, alleged that the bench headed by Justice Kumar even orally threatened to initiate contempt proceedings against the Registry if it did not comply with orders of the bench.
