Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for a ban on actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan-starrer Tamil drama 'Uttama Villain', claiming it will affect the religious sentiments of Hindi speaking people.
The VHP is reportedly upset with the lyrics of a song in the film, say it will upset the followers of Hindu god Vishnu. According to VHP the song belittles conversation between the mythological figures Prahalad and Hiranyakashipu.
Directed by Ramesh Aravind, 'Uttama Villain' is about an 8th century theatre artist and a modern-day superstar. The film is likely to be released on May 1, 2015.
