Retired IPS officer DG Vanzara, chargesheeted in Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his wife Kauser Bi, Tulsiram Prajapati and Ishrat Jahan fake encounter cases, on Monday filed Rs.101 crore suit against Mufti Abdul Qayum Mansuri who recently penned a book"11 months after spending 11 years in jail," a year after he was acquitted from Akshardham terror attack case by the Supreme Court.

Mansuri in his book has alleged that after his arrest in the 2002 case he was tortured in the custody of Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), Ahmedabad. He has named several officers in the book but three names of three officers figure prominently that includes Vanzara, IPS officer GL Singhal among others. The terror attack case was investigated by Vanzara, Singhal who were then posted in DCB.
