Giving respite to senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, the Gauhati High Court on Friday stayed entire proceedings initiated against him at the court of additional judicial magistrate, Karimganj district in Assam, for allegedly delivering a hate speech on Ayodhya row at a function organized at Kaziranga University in the state on March 15, according to a lawyer who assisted Swamy in the court informed.

The BJP leader appeared before the court Justice B K Sarma as a ‘petitioner-in-person’. The court also issued a notice to Assam government asking it to submit a reply within four week on the points raised by Swamy before the court on Friday.
