The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Monday directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to send copies of its letter instructing removal of objectionable dialogues from the movie Bahubali' to all the district collectors in the state. The court said the district collectors could take legal action against theatre houses screening the movie if the dialogues are not removed.The court adjourned the case to August 19.
Three people, including state organizing secretary of Tamil Puligal C Perarivalan, filed petitions saying the movie contained dialogues humiliating the Arunthathiar community . In one scene the hero says he would not let the son of a Pagadai to rule the country . According to the petitioners, the term `Pagadai' denotes Arunthathiar caste.
