CHENNAI: A court in Chennai has summoned Congress leader E V K S Elangovan in connection with a criminal defamation case filed by Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

City public prosecutor M L Jegan filed the complaint on behalf of Jayalalithaa in the principal sessions court here on August 17.
