A journalist with Marathi news channel was allegedly thrashed by unidentified persons while covering an incident of fire at Dadar in central Mumbai on Tuesday, police said.
Amit Joshi, reporter with 'Zee 24 Taas', a Marathi news channel of Zee group, was attacked with bamboos and an iron rod at a garment warehouse this evening.
"An FIR under section 307 (Attempt to murder) of the IPC was registered against unidentified persons for attacking the journalist. We will take the visuals captured by the cameraman to nab the accused soon," said S D Baviskar, Deputy Police Commissioner.
Joshi was interviewing local people about the incident when some unidentified persons started arguing with him and later thrashed him, injuring the reporter severely, police added.
