Away from the streets, thousands of Kashmiri youths have been using the digital battlefield to wage a virtual war against the state over the last three months.
And Faizan Samad, an 18-year-old Class XII student, has become the first virtual protestor to be arrested by the Special Operations Group of the J&K Police.
The police say they dont want to prevent the protests in the virtual world, but it should not cross the line between opinion and propaganda.
Faizan Samad was arrested because he had posted a list with the names of police officers who belong to the Valley on Facebook, which has serious consequences on their security, said Inspector General of Police, Kashmir zone, S M Sahai.
