New Delhi:Md Wasimul Haque, 81, chief editor of Akhbar-e-Mashriq--a Kolkata-headquartered Urdu daily-was reportedly detained for several hours late on Monday .
According to his son, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Nadimul Haque, the elder Haque was taken into “protective custody“ from his Laxmi Nagar home in the capital after the daily published an article critical of a Hindu leaders' “provocative statements“.
