Tamil Nadu Handloom and Textile Minister S. Gokula Indira has moved criminal defamation charge against Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan for publishing news article defaming the ministry.

City Public Prosecutor M.L. Jegan, who moved the application before the Principal Session Court on behalf of the Minister, submitted that the weekly carried a news article captioned ‘Manthri Thanthri’ in its publication dated June 10 levelling various allegations against the ministry.
