An advocate has filed a complaint in a Delhi court seeking prosecution of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘coward and psychopath.’ According to the complainant, Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, Mr. Kejriwal had allegedly tweeted on his twitter handle on December 15 that ‘Modi is a coward and a psychopath’, reacting to the CBI raid at the office of the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar, at the Delhi Secretariat in a corruption case. The complainant further said that he was aggrieved by the defamatory and seditious remark made by the Chief Minister with a view to spread hatred and contempt towards the Union Government.

Such a conduct by the Chief Minister had also the potential of tarnishing the image of the country in international relations, the complainant alleged. Stating that it was the moral as well as legal duty of every citizen to be respectful to the country, the complainant said that the Prime Minister is the face of each and every citizen. Being fully aware of the autonomy and independence of CBI, the Chief Minister made the remark due to political rivalry and to serve his personal interests, the complainant alleged.The court will take up his complaint for consideration on January 4.
