Minister for Backward Class and Minorities S. Abdul Rahim has filed a criminal defamation complaint against Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan for allegedly carrying a defamatory report about him. City Public Prosecutor M.L. Jegan on Tuesday moved the complaint on behalf of the Minister before the Principal Sessions Court here .

The prosecutor alleged that the weekly, in its publication dated July 7, 2014, had levelled baseless charges against the Minister in a bid to defame his reputation.
