The Delhi High Court has issued notice to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad on a defamation suit filed by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) seeking damages from them, even as a public interest litigation was filed challenging the AAP government’s decision to set up a Commission of Inquiry to probe the affairs of the cricket body. The DDCA has sought damages of Rs. 2.5 crore each from Mr.
Kejriwal and Mr. Azad for their purported remarks against the cricket body’s functioning and finances. Holding the DDCA’s petition as maintainable, High Court Joint Registrar Anil Kumar Sisodia said that both defendants needed to clear their stand.
