Pune: A magisterial court re-examined Anna Hazare on Saturday on former state minister Suresh Jain's reply to a legal notice in a criminal defamation case filed in 2003 by the anti-corruption crusader.

Jain had addressed a couple of press conferences in Pune and Mumbai in May 2003, accusing Hazare of being corrupt and having committed impropriety in the Hind Swaraj Trust run by him. On May 26, 2003, Hazare sent a legal notice to Jain, who had to resign from the post of food and civil supplies minister following Hazare's anti-corruption campaign. The former minister replied to it through his lawyer Achyut Atre on June 12, 2003. Later, Hazare filed the defamation suit against him.
