The Shyam Benegal committee tasked with recommending changes in the Censor Board has generated significant interest. A petition seeking ban on censorship for adult rated films has garnered over 13,000 signatures. This is the second such petition that has been doing the rounds.

Vignesh Vellore’s petition on change.org urges the government not to treat adults like 5 year olds. “Because of this mindless censorship, it’s becoming harder and harder to watch movies in the theatre. We are not 5-year-olds, we are adults who can handle mature content. A movie will not ruin our morals or our culture. But censorship will ruin our country,” the petition says.
