Separate criminal defamation cases have been filed against TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan and Vilavancode MLA S. Vijayatharini at the District Sessions Court here on Wednesday.

The cases were filed by A. Gnanasekaran, Public Prosecutor, on behalf of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
