The High Court of Karnataka has issued notices to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Regional Censor Officer (RCO) over muting of some words in the film Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu.
The CBFC is in the centre of controversy over the film that was released on March 11. The board has asked the filmmakers to mute several expletives.
The filmmakers carried out the board's order and obtained a certificate for release, but crisis started after other filmmakers started protesting against CBFC's censorship. The RCO visited the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to douse the fire. But that could not stop the matter from reaching the court.
