The Bombay High Court on Thursday refused to grant a stay on the release of Bengali movie Dark Chocolate, which is based on the Sheena Bora murder case. A Division Bench of Justice S.C. Dharmadhikari and Justice G.S. Kulkarni was hearing a petition filed by co-accused Peter Mukherjea and his sister Shangon Dasgupta alleging defamation.
The petition states that Kolkata-based director Agnidev Chaterjee is openly promoting the film and its characters.
The court said it has faith in the Central Board of Film Certification to analyse everything before approving the film for release.
