A reporter and camera person of a regional television channel, were attacked by the goons of sand contractors in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday night.

They thrashed reporter Prashant Dubey and his cameraman Azad Sirviya before breaking their camera. They were rescued by the police.

The two journalists were reportedly were trying to capture footage of unabated mining near Neemsadia village around 8.30 pm when mining mafias abducted them on knife point.
It is alleged that mining officers are hand in gloves with mining contractors.
