GUWAHATI, May 11 - Advocate Bijon Kumar Mahajan has filed a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore against Assam Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Ramen Barthakur in the Court of Civil Judge No. 1, Kamrup.

The defamation suit was also filed against a vernacular daily on Tuesday, although no relief has been sought from it.

Barthakur had allegedly made defamatory comments against Mahajan and reportedly sought to link the latter with jihadi activities in the State. The said news was also published in the said vernacular daily, which the plaintiff felt was damaging to his goodwill and reputation.
