The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday ordered former Congress MLA Roshan Lal Arya to join investigation on May 28 in the FIR registered against him on April 26 for sedition, promoting enmity between different groups and assertions prejudicial to national-integration for his alleged comments against the Jat community at Ferozepur Jhirka in Mewat district.
At the same time, Justice MMS Bedi also ordered Arya to refrain himself from making any comment in the public against any community as there were already three FIRs registered against him in Kaithal, Ferozepur Jhirka and Rewari.
The court also issued notice to Arya on an application moved by the Haryana government seeking bail cancellation of Arya in an FIR registered against him at Kaithal for alleged derogatory remarks against the Jat community and taking an oath against Jat community at PWD rest house in Kaithal. Meanwhile, Arya has also filed a petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR registered in Rewari submitting that the FIR was registered on the basis of newspaper reports.
