Chandigarh: A day after the Punjab and Haryana high court imposed an interim stay on the reservation to jats and five other communities, Haryana Police on Friday booked All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) president Yashpal Malik under sedition charges for giving provoking speech in Jind town on Wednesday.

Jind DSP Dinesh Yadav told the TOI on Friday that Malik and half-a-dozen other leaders have been booked for provoking people to revolt against the state government.
The FIR has been lodged in connection with a meeting of state executive of the AIJASS at Jind on May 25.

Yadav said that the police has audio and video tapes to support their case.
