Makers of the Malayalam film ‘KaBodyscapes’ allege that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is making the certification process for the movie hard, reports The Hindu. The film reportedly has a strong gay love story and also discusses civil liberties, sexual choices and the societal demands on women.
The Board had allegedly refused to certify the film in April, frowning upon what it considered “sensitive gay scenes, use of derogatory words against women, and vulgar dialogues” and referred it to a revising committee headed by chairman Pahlaj Nihalani.
But the director of the film Jayan Cherian alleges that the Board is intentionally delaying the process.
“We only want them to issue a certificate to screen the film in public and are sending them a legal notice. If they delay it any further, we will move the High Court seeking relief,” said Vijay V. Paul, Mr. Cherian’s lawyer.
