The police arrested the journalists from the Judicial First Class Magistrate court in Kozhikode, Kerala.
According to police, the reporters were removed from the court premises, as Maoist leader Roopesh would be produced before the court. When reporters questioned police's stance, the cops took them into custody, the New Indian Express reported.
The police claimed that there was an instruction from the District Judge to remove reporters from the court premises. Later, the arrested persons were released after an intervention of higher level police officers.
The incident was reported even as the media in Kerala continue to face problems at various courts in the state following the coverage of a sexual molestation case if a senior advocate and consequent attack on journalists by a section of lawyers.
