Opposition leader and DMK treasurer M K Stalin has filed a case before the Madurai bench of the Madras high court seeking the court's intervention to appear before the principal district sessions court in Dindigul through his counsel in a defamation case filed against him by the government in 2013 and to stay the case against him.

His case will come up for hearing on Friday. Stalin said the case against him was filed by government pleader Arockiasamy in October 2013.
