Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were on Friday granted regular bail in a sedition case filed in relation to the Afzal Guru event on the JNU premises on February 9. A trial court said there was no ground to deny relief to these three JNU students who were out on interim bail.

The court's order came after Delhi Police chose not to oppose the plea for regular bail by JNU Student Union president Kumar and the two others. The accused did not misuse interim bail conditions and joined the probe whenever necessary, said special public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan, who appeared for the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
