The film shows that dowry tradition is prevalent among the rabaris, and women indulge in prostitution and lesbianism. "The film is trying to disrepute and disrespect the culture and tradition of the rabaris. If allowed to be released, 'Parched' could hurt the community sentiments and would send a wrong signal to the audiences about the community. The film also uses abusive and filthy language and projects the entire community in a very improper manner", the petitioner contended.The petitioner claimed that from the trailers of the film available on internet, he came to know about the subject and felt offended to the manner in which his community has been projected. "It is very shameful that a movie director and producer can go to this extent just to promote their movie," the petition reads.The petitioner has urged the HC to direct the parties to place the censor certificate issued by CBFC and alleged that the censor board has not performed its duty as per laws by sanctioning exhibition of the movie.
