Three people were arrested for attacking an 18-year-old student in the city on Sunday. In his complaint, the boy said that the trio came home with an intention to attack his father, a journalist with a private Tamil news channel for repeatedly complaining against them, for their alleged involvement in various anti-social activities in the area.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon at Thiruvalluvar Street in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar. Police said the journalist, identified as Chandran was taking rest at his house, when the gang barged inside with the intention of attacking him.
