Sending allegedly defamatory e-mails to their team leader and uploading similar content on a social media website has landed two software engineers in trouble.

The Vimannagar police have booked the two under various provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 after the team leader filed a complaint on Friday.

The two software engineers, one of whom is a woman, allegedly defamed the team leader by sending e-mails to office colleagues claiming that their team leader had illicit relationships in the office and behaved like she is a member of a 'terrorist organisation'. The accused and the complainant work in a software company located at Hinjewadi IT Park.
