Taking a tough stand, BJD Leader and BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena on Friday approached the local court here seeking prosecution of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Odisha Unit’s President Itish Pradhan and proprietor of niankhunta.com Pradeep Pandey for allegedly defaming him by levelling false allegations of involvement in a sex scandal.

BJD Leader Ananta Jena filed a defamation suit of Rs 1 crore at the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here alleging the two of tarnishing his character and image publicly.

Beside seeking prosecution against the two under section 500, 262, 66, 67 of IPC, Jena urged the court to ban to circulation of video in social media and You Tube.

“I have filed a Rs 1cr criminal defamation case against the two for tarnishing my image in the society. They have tried to malign my reputation by allegedly naming me in the video,” said BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena after filing case with the court here.
