The prepaid mobile internet is unlikely to be restored in Kashmir, as the authorities are still monitoring the situation.
The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Javid Mujtaba Geelani, told The Kashmir Monitor that the government has not yet planned to resume the prepaid internet service in the valley.
“There is no timeline for resuming the prepaid internet service in the valley. We are watching the situation. When we get proper situation for resuming the service, we will resume it. As of now, we don’t have any plan of restoring the service,” he said.
The mobile telephony and internet services were barred across Kashmir by the authorities in July this year, following the mass unrest after the killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani.
