A 30-year-old man was today sentenced to three years in prison by a local court in a sedition case.
Additional District Sessions Judge Dinesh Gupta awarded three years’ imprisonment to Nadeem after holding him guilty of sedition and promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, advocate Abrish Rana said.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 6,000 on him.
Nadeem had on August 23, 2014 shouted pro-Pakistan slogans, made derogatory remarks against a particular religion and attacked a man, Shiva, who objected to his act in Thana Bhawan town in neighbouring Shamli district.
