Authorities on Monday afternoon snapped mobile internet service across Kashmir as colleges and universities erupted in the Valley over the thrashing of students of Pulwama Degree College by government forces last week. However, the Broadband Internet and 2G services were spared.

This is for the second time this year that mobile internet service has been snapped in the Valley. Earlier, the authorities snapped both mobile and broadband internet services on April 8 on the eve of by-polls to Srinagar parliamentary seat.

The services were again unplugged this afternoon to contain protests, according to officials. The move came after massive protests and clashes were reported from colleges and universities across Kashmir against thrashing of students of Pulwama Degree College by forces on Saturday.
