Ippala Ravindra, another social media activist, has been picked up by the Andhra Pradesh police in Bengaluru, according to reports here on Tuesday. Inturi Ravi Kiran was earlier arrested by the State police for posting derogatory remarks on the AP Assembly and TDP leaders in social media. Mr. Ravindra, who is working as a software engineer in Bengaluru, was reportedly summoned by the AP police to meet them in the city and was taken into custody, according to sources. He was also reportedly not allowed to take legal assistance.
The police have, however, not confirmed the arrest. The posting about the Chief Minister quoting passages from a national magazine article is said to be objectionable.
