Madras high court has declined to stay the screening of Priyanka Chopra's film 'Baywatch', saying it was not inclined to pass any blanket stay when the CBFC had cleared it. It, however, asked police to ensure that those who were not adults were not allowed to enter theatres to watch the film.
The first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar, rejecting the plea of PIL-petitioner Vaikunth Kasthurirangan on Friday, said: "We are not inclined to pass any blanket order suspending the screening of the film, when on the face of the averments, the film has been cleared by the CBFC."
