Days after Burhanpur police dropped sedition charges against the 15 Muslim men for cheering Pakistan’s win over India in Champions’ Trophy final, the said complainant in the case appeared before media on Tuesday with startling revelation that he never complained to police against anyone.
Shahpur Thana in-charge Sanjay Pathak, after the arrest of 15 men from Mohad village in Burhanpur, told media persons, “One Subhash Koli from Mohad village had complained that some local men chanted pro-Pakistan slogans, so these men were arrested and booked under sections 120 (B) –amounting to conspiracy and 124 (A) –amounting to treason.”
