Ever since Hindi Medium's trailer released in April, the film circles in both Mumbai and Kolkata have been abuzz with speculations of it being on the same theme as Bengali hit Ramdhanu (2014). Since directors Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee were too caught up with the release of their movie, Posto, around the same time as Hindi Medium, they moved court this week seeking an injunction against the Bollywood film. As per the order passed on June 29 by District Judge, Alipore Court, defendants -Maddock Films Pvt Ltd and others -have been restricted from releasing the film "to any other format or electronic format including CDs, DVDs, televisioninternet or extra territo rial rights till July 28".
