Police protection will be provided to writer K P Ramanunni who recently got a threatening letter that said he would face the fate of Joseph teacher if he didn’t change his religion within six months. (Joseph teacher’s hand was chopped for preparing questions that allegedly hurt religious sentiments).

Meanwhile, Ramanunni said he would continue writing even if he received death threats. “When threatened, many writers have stopped writing in the past but I will not commit suicide from wiring,” he added.

It is presumed that the threatening letter was sent to him for writing the article, ‘Priyapetta Muslingalodum Hindukkalodum Oru Viswasi’. In the letter it is said that the article misled innocent Muslim youths.

Ramanunni said he doubted the hands of Islamic fundamentalists behind the letter.

Following reports about the incident, the chief minister said strict action would be taken against those were intolerant to writers.
