A PIL has been filed to stop popular Tamil reality show Bigg Boss in Madras High Court. Filed by Saravanan alias cine Saravanan. The PIL states that the show projects women in a pejorative manner and is hurtful towards the downtrodden, as per Deccan Chronicle. It also claims that the reality show, hosted by Kamal Haasan, denigrates women by playing with their emotions.

Saravanan told Deccan Chronicle that his family feels embarrassed while watching the show due to the obscene dress code followed by the women in the house.

Additionally, some remarks of the made by the inmates have also hurt the sentiments of the underprivileged, according to the complainant.

Inspired by american reality TV series Big Brother, Bigg Boss brings together celebrities under one roof. All channels of communication with the outside world are barred.
