In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred five youth in Kupwara district.

The troops killed the youth during a violent military operation in Macchil area of the district.

A bullet-riddled body of one Ishtiaq Ahmad Wagay was recovered from Aalam Gunj area of Shopian. Few gunshots were heard on Sunday night and later residents found a man lying in a pool of blood in the village.

On the other hand, several people were injured in violent Indian forces’ action at Somber in Pampore.

Meanwhile, as a mark of protest against highhandedness of Indian police, journalists from print as well as electronic media staged a sit-in outside the office of the SSP Handwara carrying placards with the slogan, “Stop harassing media”. The journalists were protesting against the thrashing of a reporter, Javed Zargar, by Indian police.

Javed Zargar was stopped by Indian police at Watergam and manhandled after he told the police that he was a journalist.
