An encounter started at Gopalpora village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Wednesday late night.

Official sources told GNS that army’s 9 RR and SOG cordoned off Gopalpora area in DH Pora following specific information about the presence of some militants.

As such the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation, the militant tried to break the cordon opened fire triggering of an encounter.

Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
