Within seven seconds after I left a five-star hotel at the Airport Circle in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat government's Intelligence Bureau selectively leaked the footage and details about my visit.

I live in India which is a democracy. This is the world's largest democracy. I am a leader fighting for a cause. I am not a criminal and I have the right to meet people I want.

The Gujarat government is claiming that it is routine for them to monitor VIP movements and since Congress vice-president was visiting that hotel it was necessary for them to keep a watch on it.

My question is simple -- if this was for security reasons, isn't leaking this information a serious breach of security?
